New Comedy Flick “Kapkappi” Promises Laughs and Chills

Shreyas Talapde revealed the intriguing title of his forthcoming film, “Kapkappi,” during an announcement on Thursday. Directed by the renowned filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan, known for his work on hits like “Apna Sapna Money Money” and “Kya Kool Hain Hum,” the screenplay is penned by Kumar Priyadarshi and Saurabh Anand.

Talpade, excited about the project, assured that fans of thrillers and patriotic cinema would find delight in this upcoming comedy. “Today, when most films are dominated by thrillers, darkness, or patriotism, audiences can anticipate a genuine horror comedy,” he remarked. “While there’s a consistent chuckle, there are also sequences that will have you falling off your chair with laughter, interspersed with moments that’ll send genuine shivers down your spine.”

Having recovered from a heart attack in December 2023, Talpade expressed his joy at reuniting with Kapoor and Sivan, his co-stars from “Golmaal,” with whom he previously collaborated on the 2006 film “Apna Sapna Money Money.” “Working with Kapoor and Sivan feels like collaborating with two brothers,” he expressed. “I sense a certain level of maturity that comes with years of experience, both in myself and Tusshar. Sangeethji possesses the knack for understanding our strengths and leveraging them to the fullest.”

Reflecting on his experience working with Sivan on the adult comedy “Kyaa Kool Hai Hum” in 2005, Kapoor shared that he accepted the role in “Kapkappi” due to the opportunity to portray a different character. “I thoroughly enjoyed the script,” Kapoor remarked. “The team exuded great energy, particularly Sangeeth sir, with whom I’ve had the pleasure of working before. My character resides within the realms of comedy and horror but is distinctly different from my previous roles.”
