Netflix has officially greenlit a sequel to the beloved 1996 golf comedy “Happy Gilmore,” featuring Adam Sandler reprising his role as the titular character. The announcement came during the streaming platform’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York City, igniting excitement among fans of the original film.
Sandler, who also co-wrote the original film, will return to the screen as the passionate yet volatile hockey player turned golfer, Happy Gilmore. Directed by Dennis Dugan, the first installment of the sports comedy remains a classic in Sandler’s extensive filmography.
