Netflix Renews “Berlin” Spinoff for Second Season

Netflix has announced the renewal of its popular spinoff series “Berlin” for a second season, set to premiere on the streaming platform. Pedro Alonso will reprise his role as the iconic character Berlin, promising audiences a new heist and deeper exploration of his character’s love life.
The ensemble cast from the first season will return, including Michelle Jenner as Keila, an expert in electronic engineering; Tristán Ulloa as Damián, Berlin’s confidant; Begoña Vargas as Cameron, the daring member who lives on the edge; Julio Peña Fernández as Roi, Berlin’s loyal companion; and Joel Sánchez as Bruce, the relentless action man of the gang.
Netflix revealed a new promotional photo of the cast alongside the announcement. The series, created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato, received widespread acclaim during its premiere week, becoming the most-watched series globally and reaching the top 10 in 91 countries. It has since remained in the top 10 for seven consecutive weeks in non-English TV, accumulating 348 million hours viewed and 53 million total views. “Berlin” now ranks as the ninth most-watched non-English language series in Netflix’s history.
Filming for the second season of “Berlin” is scheduled to begin in 2025. Meanwhile, Pina’s TV production company Vancouver Media is currently working on “El refugio atómico” (The Fallout Shelter), a drama series set against the backdrop of imminent World War III, which follows a group of multimillionaires seeking refuge in a luxury bunker.
