Nathan Fillion Joins HBO’s ‘Lanterns’ as Guy Gardner
Veteran Actor to Portray Green Lantern in Upcoming DC Series

HBO’s forthcoming DC series “Lanterns” has cast Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, marking his return to the Green Lantern universe. Fillion previously voiced Hal Jordan in several animated films, including “Green Lantern: Emerald Knights” (2011) and “Justice League: Doom” (2012). He also portrayed The Detachable Kid (TDK) in James Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” (2021).
“Lanterns” features Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart. The series follows new recruit John Stewart and seasoned Lantern Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. The cast also includes Kelly Macdonald, Garret Dillahunt, Poorna Jagannathan, and Ulrich Thomsen.

Chris Mundy serves as showrunner, co-writing the pilot with Damon Lindelof and Tom King. All three executive produce alongside James Gunn, Peter Safran, Ron Schmidt, and James Hawes, who is directing the first two episodes. Stephen Williams, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Alik Sakharov are also set to direct. The series entered production in February.
