“Mr. and Mrs. Mahi,” starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, continues to perform well at the box office. Kapoor has shared her appreciation for the fans, emphasizing that their affection and encouragement drive her to work harder. The film, which premiered on May 31, has amassed ₹21.10 crore within its first five days of release.
Janhvi Kapoor penned a heartfelt thank-you note for her fans in response to the film’s warm reception. She stated, “Your love has motivated me to keep going and keep working even harder and pushing myself in my craft.”
She further expressed, “Your love is worth everything! ‘Mr. and Mrs. Mahi’ is a piece of my heart, and for all those who understood and connected with what we were trying to say, thank you.”
In the Sharan Sharma-directed film, Janhvi portrays Mahima, a doctor. Rajkummar Rao plays her husband, Mahendra, who not only supports her dream of becoming a cricket player but also serves as her coach. To prepare for the role, Janhvi underwent two years of rigorous training, overcoming multiple injuries, including a dislocated shoulder.
The film’s title honors fans of former Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, affectionately known as Mahi. The cast also includes Rajesh Sharma, Kumud Mishra, and Zarina Wahab. This marks the second collaboration between Janhvi and director Sharan Sharma. Previously, Janhvi and Rajkummar co-starred in the horror-comedy “Roohi.”
