Kartik Aaryan Speaks Honestly About Bollywood’s Insider–Outsider Reality
Ahead of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, the actor reflects on struggle, privilege, and why he still raises his voice for newcomers

Actor Kartik Aaryan has once again weighed in on Bollywood’s long-running insider versus outsider debate, offering a grounded and personal perspective shaped by his own journey. Speaking ahead of the release of his upcoming film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, Kartik shared that while he has emotionally moved past the debate for himself, he continues to speak up because the issue remains very real for aspiring actors trying to break into the industry.
Kartik pointed out that the conversation is necessary to highlight the unequal starting points within Hindi cinema. According to him, when a major filmmaker launches someone from within the industry, their career begins at a significantly higher level. Outsiders, on the other hand, often lack financial backing, industry perception, and crucial access. He stressed that without acknowledging these differences, audiences would never fully understand the scale of struggle faced by those entering Bollywood without connections.
Recalling his early years, Kartik spoke about witnessing many talented individuals arrive in Mumbai with dreams, only to eventually leave because opportunities simply did not materialize for them. He acknowledged that while filmmakers today are increasingly open to casting fresh faces, the imbalance still exists in other areas — from brand endorsements and social media leverage to the kind of film choices offered to actors.
Now firmly established after years of relentless effort, Kartik admitted he feels grateful to finally be in a position where he can make selective career choices. He described his journey as one that required giving “200 percent” to every opportunity that came his way, without the safety net that many industry insiders enjoy.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by Sameer Vidwans and co-starring Ananya Panday, Jackie Shroff, and Neena Gupta, is slated for a Christmas 2025 release. The film has already generated significant buzz, both for its romantic storyline and the conversations surrounding its music and promotions. Amid all the noise, Kartik’s comments stand out as a reminder that while success may eventually blur labels, the path to reaching that point is far from equal.
