Kareena Kapoor Emphasizes the Essence of Acting Talent Over Physical Appearance for Bollywood Stardom

In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor highlighted the significance of being a proficient performer rather than merely having a sculpted physique to achieve stardom in Bollywood. During an interview with Film Companion, Kapoor expressed contentment with the industry while debunking the notion that possessing six-pack abs automatically qualifies someone as a great celebrity.
Speaking about her cousin Ranbir Kapoor, whom she referred to as a “phenomenal actor” without explicitly naming him, Kareena addressed the correlation between being a good actor and attaining stardom. She revisited her previous statement, asserting that performers have evolved since Ranbir Kapoor’s time, stating, “I’m so happy that we are finally there,” and emphasized that being a talented actor and a prominent star go hand in glove.
When questioned about the necessity for an actor to be a good actor to become a great star, Kareena reiterated her stance, emphasizing that genuine talent and the ability to connect with audiences are paramount. She dismissed the idea that physical attributes alone, such as six-pack abs, can elevate someone to stardom, humorously suggesting, “Sometimes, I feel like telling those actors, ‘Please wear your T-shirt first. I can’t even look at you right now.'”
Furthermore, Kareena emphasized the enduring success of good actors, asserting that longevity in the industry is guaranteed for those who possess genuine acting talent. She cited Bobby Deol as an example, praising his ability to explore different characters and showcase his inherent talent. Bobby Deol, who was present during the interview, reciprocated by acknowledging the challenges of finding roles that allow actors to exhibit their true capabilities.
