Jyotika’s Bollywood Revival: A Tale of Two Films and a New Horizon
The acclaimed actress returns to Hindi cinema, juggling roles in two diverse projects while embracing the digital realm

Renowned star Jyotika is set to grace the silver screen of Hindi cinema once again, marking her return with a double treat for her fans. While her comeback vehicle, “Shaitaan,” featuring Madhavan and Ajay Devgn, has already garnered attention, her upcoming venture “Srikanth: Aa Raha Hai Sabki Aankhein Kholne” promises to be equally captivating, starring Rajkummar Rao and directed by Tushar Hiranandani.
Director Tushar Hiranandani expressed gratitude to Suriya, Jyotika’s husband, for persuading her to take on the role in “Srikanth,” where she portrays the instructor of Srikanth Bolla, the protagonist. Initially hesitant, Jyotika later embraced the opportunity, recognizing the script’s potential after Suriya’s endorsement.
Hiranandani, an admirer of Jyotika’s talent, recounted her initial reluctance, stating, “She told me she wouldn’t be able to do it.” However, her stance changed swiftly after Suriya’s intervention. “They both called me home, and she officially confirmed she’s doing my film,” he added, highlighting Suriya’s pivotal role in her decision.
Moreover, Jyotika’s commitment to “Shaitaan” came as a result of her initial agreement to star in “Srikanth.” Mukesh Chhabra, the casting director, played a crucial role in convincing her for “Shaitaan,” emphasizing its significance within the industry. Director Tushar recalled, “She wasn’t doing Hindi films for the longest time, ours was the first film she said yes to.”
With “Shaitaan,” Jyotika heralds her return to the vibrant landscape of Hindi cinema. However, her journey doesn’t halt there. Scheduled for release on May 10, “Srikanth” promises to unveil a different facet of her acting prowess. Alongside her cinematic endeavors, she ventures into the digital realm with the upcoming Netflix web series “Dabba Cartel,” further expanding her horizon and captivating audiences across diverse platforms.
