At the War 2 pre-release event in Hyderabad, Jr NTR spoke openly about the lingering concerns South Indian actors face when entering Bollywood. He expressed deep gratitude to director SS Rajamouli, crediting him with breaking down the artificial divide between North and South Indian cinema through his pan-India blockbusters.
“Every South Indian has this doubt—‘Kya accept karenge yeh log?’ (‘Will these people accept us?’)—but I’m grateful that Hrithik sir welcomed me with open arms and that beautiful hug on my very first day,” Jr NTR said, recalling the warmth he experienced on set. He emphasised that War 2 isn’t just about his entry into Hindi cinema, but equally about Hrithik Roshan stepping into Telugu cinema.
Jr NTR also showered praise on director Ayan Mukerji, calling him the “perfect choice” to lead the ambitious project. “Ayan has spent sleepless nights crafting this visual extravaganza. As I promised, 2025 will deliver another blockbuster, and that name is Ayan Mukerji,” he declared.

War 2, part of the YRF Spy Universe, is directed by Ayan Mukerji and stars Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani. Made on a staggering ₹400 crore budget, the film is set for release on 14 August 2025 in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, across IMAX and premium formats.
