Josh Brolin Joins Star-Studded Cast of New ‘Knives Out’ Mystery
Renowned actors unite for Rian Johnson’s latest whodunit, with Daniel Craig reprising his role as Detective Benoit Blanc

Josh Brolin has been added to the impressive ensemble of Rian Johnson’s upcoming mystery film, *Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery*. Following the success of previous installments, Daniel Craig returns as the astute Detective Benoit Blanc.
Production for the Netflix film is slated to begin in early June in the U.K., with a notable cast that includes *Challengers* star Josh O’Connor, *Civil War* actress Cailee Spaeny, *Ripley* lead Andrew Scott, *Scandal* alum Kerry Washington, screen and stage legend Glenn Close, *Hawkeye* actor Jeremy Renner, and Mila Kunis from Netflix’s *Luckiest Girl Alive*.
Although plot details remain under wraps, the film promises to deliver the same intricate and engaging storyline as its predecessors. Detective Blanc will once again navigate a web of secrets and lies to solve a murder mystery amidst a group of eccentric characters.

Rian Johnson is not only directing and writing the script but also producing alongside his partner Ram Bergman under their T-Street banner.
Brolin, known for his iconic roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Thanos, as Cable in *Deadpool 2*, and his appearances in the *Dune* series, brings his seasoned talent to the *Knives Out* franchise. His previous work includes the intense *Sicario* crime thrillers and the sci-fi Western series *Outer Range* on Prime Video, where he also serves as executive producer and director. Currently, Brolin is working on *Weapons*, the latest project from filmmaker Zach Cregger, following the success of *Barbarian*. This November, Brolin will also debut as an author with his memoir, *From Under the Truck*, published by Harper Collins.
