Jonathan Majors Says He’s Ready for a Marvel Comeback, Despite Past Controversy
The former Kang actor opens up about his willingness to return to the MCU and reunite with co-stars like Tom Hiddleston and Paul Rudd, even after his high-profile exit.

Jonathan Majors isn’t ruling out a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite being dropped by the studio last year. The actor, who portrayed Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023), recently shared that if Marvel ever came calling again, he’d be ready to suit up.
In an interview with USA Today while promoting his new film Magazine Dreams, Majors spoke warmly about his time with Marvel Studios. “Yeah, of course I’d say yes,” he said when asked about a possible MCU comeback. “Disney, Marvel Studios—I love them. Tom Hiddleston, loved working with that guy. Loved working with Paul Rudd. Loved working with Gugu Mbatha-Raw. I love the industry so much, and now I’m in a place where I can feel the love from them and actually express my love for them.”

Majors’ relationship with Marvel came to an abrupt end after he was convicted in December 2023 on two misdemeanor counts of reckless assault and harassment. He was sentenced to probation and swiftly removed from Marvel’s future plans. The studio had previously positioned him as the MCU’s next major villain, Kang, with a central role in the now-rebranded Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Following Majors’ conviction, Marvel pivoted its storyline, reportedly retitling the upcoming Avengers films as Avengers: Doomsday, and shifting focus to Doctor Doom—rumored to be played by Robert Downey Jr.
Despite the legal fallout, Majors remains optimistic about returning to his two major franchises: Marvel and Creed. In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, he was asked if he’d reprise his role as Kang or return as Damian “Diamond Dame” Anderson in a potential Creed IV.
“Yes. Yes, to both,” Majors responded. “The version of me that would come back to those places, though, would be different. I don’t think anything different would happen between ‘action’ and ‘cut.’ That’s why I got the job. But there would be something different about it if I were to come back, and I would like that. But as I said, it’s not in my control.”

Interestingly, his Creed III co-star, Michael B. Jordan, has also voiced support for working with Majors again, fueling speculation about a possible reunion on screen.
For now, Majors is focused on Magazine Dreams, but it’s clear he’s leaving the door open for a second act in the MCU.
