Joe Jonas Embraces Solo Journey with Deeply Personal Album
The singer ventures into new creative territory with his brothers’ blessings amidst a public divorce

Joe Jonas is set to release his “most personal” album to date. The Jonas Brothers have paused their group activities, allowing each member to explore individual projects. Joe, 34, shared that he received full support from his brothers, Kevin and Nick, to pursue his solo endeavors. He described the upcoming album as a blend of various genres, stemming from his need to express bottled-up emotions, especially following his public and messy divorce.
On July 10, Joe appeared on the Therapuss With Jake Shane podcast, where he opened up about his new music. He recounted asking for his brothers’ blessings to work on something independently, noting that it wasn’t a DNCE project but a personal venture. With Nick committed to a new movie and Kevin to another season of Claim to Fame, Joe found the perfect opportunity to focus on his solo work.
The Jonas Brothers, who initially went on hiatus in 2010 and briefly reunited two years later, officially disbanded before their 2013 tour. Joe continued his musical career with DNCE, alongside Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee, and Cole Whittle. The brothers eventually reunited in 2019 with their sixth studio album, Happiness Begins.
Joe’s solo album announcement coincides with his ongoing divorce from Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner. The couple, who filed for divorce in September 2023 citing an “irretrievably broken” marriage, share two daughters, Willa, 3, and Delphine, 23 months. They announced their separation through a joint statement on Instagram, expressing their mutual decision to amicably end their four-year marriage.
Discussing his album, Joe revealed it explores themes such as fatherhood, love, and self-love. He emphasized the diverse nature of the music and the need to overcome personal struggles. “You’re the only person that’s going to fix it for yourself. No one’s going to save you,” he said.
