In a competitive bid, Prime Video has clinched the rights to “The Better Sister,” a gripping thriller set to be led by the dynamic duo of Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks. Based on Alafair Burke’s riveting novel, the series delves into the complex dynamics of sisterhood amidst tragedy and betrayal.

Biel portrays Chloe, navigating life alongside her husband Adam, a successful lawyer, and their teenage son Ethan, while Banks takes on the role of Nicky, Chloe’s estranged sister grappling with addiction and financial struggles. When Adam is gruesomely murdered, the family’s world is shattered, and long-concealed secrets come to light, unveiling a web of deceit and suspicion.

Behind the camera, Olivia Milch, known for her work on “Ocean’s 8,” pens the pilot episode, while Regina Corrado, acclaimed for her contributions to “Mayor of Kingstown,” serves as co-showrunner alongside Milch. The series, which contemplates the intricate bonds of sisterhood, is set to be directed by Craig Gillespie, the visionary behind “Pam & Tommy.”
