Jamie Lee Curtis Continues to Criticize Marvel: Takes Another Shot at MCU

The star of ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ shares her candid thoughts on the current state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe during San Diego Comic-Con

Jamie Lee Curtis, known for her witty social media presence, recently took another jab at the Marvel Cinematic Universe, comparing it unfavorably to her film, the Oscar-winning *Everything Everywhere All at Once*. Curtis humorously noted the absence of “a dynamite dildo fight scene as well as a very erotic hotdog hand-mating dance” in *Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness*. She praised her film’s “deep BEATING heart, BRILLIANT visual treats, EXTRAORDINARY performances, and FANTASTIC BEASTLY FIGHT SCENES,” all achieved on a budget smaller than Marvel’s craft service costs.

During San Diego Comic-Con, Curtis escalated her critique. When asked by MTV to identify the current phase of the MCU, Curtis bluntly responded, “Bad.” This sparked reactions from her *Borderlands* co-stars.

Walker Scobell of *Percy Jackson and the Olympians* guessed Phase 6. *Rings of Power* actress Ema Horvath suggested, β€œA transitional phase.” James McAvoy, known for his role in *X-Men*, correctly identified Phase 5. Mackenzie Davis jokingly called it the “Death” phase, prompting McAvoy to quip, β€œHey Marvel, she just terminated you.”

Christian Slater also accurately noted that the MCU is in Phase 5. The upcoming *Fantastic Four: First Steps* will kick off Phase 6 in mid-2025.
