“Irish Blood” Returns: Acorn TV Greenlights Season 2 of Its Record-Breaking Mystery Series

Alicia Silverstone reprises her role as Fiona Fox in six new hour-long episodes, with filming set to begin in Ireland in early 2026.

Acorn TV has officially renewed its critically acclaimed crime drama Irish Blood for a second season. The announcement came right after the Season 1 finale, with the series making history as Acorn TV’s most-watched show ever in both viewership and subscriber growth during its first three weeks. It also earned a perfect 100 % rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Season 2 will follow the same format as the debut season—six hour-long episodes—and filming will once again take place in Ireland, beginning in early 2026.

At the center of the series is Alicia Silverstone, who not only stars as Fiona Fox but also serves as an executive producer. Her character’s journey in Season 1 takes her from Los Angeles to rural Ireland after a cryptic message from her estranged father unravels a web of abandonment, hidden family ties, and long-buried secrets.

AMC Networks executives praised the show’s runaway success, calling it “the most successful series in Acorn TV’s history” and confirmed that they are eager to bring audiences more of Fiona Fox’s gripping story in Season 2.
