Hrithik Roshan to Lead Hindi Remake of “I Am Legend”: New Project in the Works
Actor secures rights to the Hollywood hit as he balances War 2 and Krrish 4, delving deeper into the post-apocalyptic genre
Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan is charting exciting paths for his career. Currently, he’s filming War 2 alongside Jr. NTR and prepping for a cameo in Alpha with Alia Bhatt and Sharvari. Amidst these projects, Roshan is eyeing an ambitious new venture: a Hindi adaptation of the iconic sci-fi thriller I Am Legend.
According to a report by Mid-Day, Roshan has officially acquired the rights to remake this post-apocalyptic classic and is developing it with his creative team. This exploration into dystopian storytelling isn’t new for the actor; earlier this year, he was in talks with director Kabir Khan for a similar project. Although that collaboration didn’t pan out due to creative differences, Roshan remains undeterred, now working with a different director to bring this project to life. While it’s still in the initial stages, fans are already excited about the potential of this reimagined I Am Legend.
For now, though, Roshan’s primary focus is on Krrish 4. Directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by his father, Rakesh Roshan, the long-awaited superhero sequel is expected to begin production next year.
In the original I Am Legend, Will Smith portrays Robert Neville, the last healthy human on Earth after a biological war. By day, Neville hunts the vampire-like mutants that haunt his world, and by night, he barricades himself in his fortified home, hoping to survive until dawn. This timeless story of survival and solitude will be an exciting challenge for Roshan, promising a thrilling addition to Bollywood’s take on the sci-fi genre.
