Hollywood Embraces Indian Action Film ‘Kill’ for English Remake

Dharma Productions’ and Sikhya Entertainment’s action thriller set for a Hollywood adaptation by John Wick creators

In a groundbreaking development for Indian cinema, the action-packed film *Kill*, produced by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, is set to be remade in Hollywood. Lionsgate, known for its blockbuster John Wick series, announced that 87Eleven Entertainment, helmed by John Wick director Chad Stahelski, will produce the English-language version of *Kill*.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Adam Fogelson made the announcement, highlighting *Kill*’s immense potential. Stahelski praised the film, describing it as one of the most dynamic and creative action movies he has seen recently. He emphasized the importance of showcasing Nikhil Nagesh Bhat’s intense action sequences to a broader audience and expressed excitement about collaborating with the original team to create a high-quality English adaptation.

The film’s official synopsis reads: “During a train trip to New Delhi, a pair of commandos face an army of invading bandits.”

The original producers, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain, shared their excitement in a joint statement. They expressed their delight at the film’s international recognition and their honor in partnering with Lionsgate. They view the pre-release remake announcement as a significant achievement for Indian cinema, highlighting its potential for global acclaim.

“When we created *Kill* with Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, we envisioned global love, and seeing North American theatres chant ‘Kill! Kill! Kill!’ feels like a dream realized. As we approach our global release, we are thrilled that 87Eleven Entertainment will produce an English remake. This project marks the second collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, following their critically acclaimed film *The Lunchbox*.
