Health Scare on Set: Over 100 Crew Members Hospitalized During Dhurandhar Shoot in Leh
Mass food poisoning strikes Dhurandhar team in Ladakh; authorities launch probe as cast and crew brace to resume shooting ahead of December release.

A serious health scare disrupted the filming of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh’s high-octane spy thriller directed by Aditya Dhar. On Sunday, August 17, more than 100 crew members fell ill with suspected food poisoning during the mountain shoot in Leh, Ladakh.
The sudden onset of symptoms—including nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headaches, and dehydration—prompted an emergency response, with the affected rushed to the SNM (Sonal Narbu Memorial) Hospital in Leh. The medical superintendent confirmed that approximately 120 individuals were admitted, though some reports cited the number as 116. Thankfully, no fatalities occurred; while most have since been discharged, a handful remain under observation.
Authorities revealed that nearly 600 people at the location had consumed the same meals, raising red flags about potential contamination sources. Samples from the meals have been obtained and sent for testing as part of an ongoing investigation by local food safety departments and the district administration.
At present, individuals in leading roles—including Ranveer Singh, along with co-stars Sara Arjun, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal—remain unaffected by the incident.
The health scare has drawn attention to the logistical and safety challenges of filming large-scale productions in remote, high-altitude regions such as Ladakh. Despite the setback, the production appears poised to resume after necessary medical clearances and safety reviews.
As of now, the team remains hopeful of meeting their planned worldwide release date: December 5, 2025. Fans and industry watchers alike now await both the findings of the investigation and the film’s return to full swing.
