After a prolonged wait, director Seenu Ramasamy’s action-packed rural drama Idimuzhakkam is finally slated for a theatrical release in May 2025. The film stars GV Prakash Kumar as a meat shop owner and Gayathrie Shankar as a nurse, weaving a narrative of vengeance set against the backdrop of South Tamil Nadu’s rustic landscapes.
The title Idimuzhakkam, translating to “sound of thunder,” aptly captures the film’s intense emotional and dramatic tones. The storyline, penned by acclaimed writer Jeyamohan, delves into themes of retribution and justice, promising a gripping cinematic experience.
Supporting roles are portrayed by a talented ensemble cast, including Saranya Ponvannan, MS Bhaskar, Ganja Karuppu, Baba Bhaskar, and Kayal Devaraj. The film’s music is composed by NR Raghunanthan, with lyrics by Vairamuthu. Notably, the second single, “Kaana Vilakku Mayile,” performed by Antony Dasan, was recently released, generating significant buzz among fans.

Produced by Kalaimagan Mubarak under the Skyman Films International banner, Idimuzhakkam has been in the pipeline since its completion in September 2021. The film’s first look, featuring GV Prakash in a traditional lungi and shirt, wielding a knife beside a mutton shop, was unveiled in June 2022, hinting at the film’s gritty and intense narrative.
While the exact release date remains under wraps, anticipation is high for this collaboration between Seenu Ramasamy and GV Prakash, promising a compelling addition to Tamil cinema’s action-thriller genre.
