Glitz and Glamour: Prime Video’s “Call Me Bae” Set for September Launch
Ananya Panday Stars in New Drama Series from Karan Johar and Dharmatic Entertainment

Prime Video is set to premiere its latest Hindi-language drama series, “Call Me Bae,” this September. The series, featuring Ananya Panday in the lead role, promises a compelling narrative of transformation and resilience.
“Call Me Bae,” written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, follows the journey of Bella ‘Bae’ Chowdhary, a young heiress whose life turns upside down following a scandal. Stripped of her wealth, Bae discovers that her true assets lie not in her material possessions but in her street smarts and innate style. As she navigates the challenging world of Mumbai’s newsrooms, she finds romance, friendship, and her authentic self.
The eight-part series is a Dharmatic Entertainment production, created by Ishita Moitra and directed by Collin D’Cunha. Alongside Ananya Panday, the show features a robust ensemble cast including Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.

Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra serve as executive producers, adding a touch of glamour and credibility to the series. Johar, known for his iconic films like “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” and “My Name Is Khan,” as well as the popular talk show “Koffee with Karan,” continues to make waves in the entertainment industry through his production companies, Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment. These companies have existing deals with major streaming platforms such as Netflix and Prime Video.
Dharmatic Entertainment’s collaboration with Prime Video includes the theatrical film “Yodha” and the upcoming Vicky Kaushal-starring comedy “Bad Newz,” which is slated for a mid-July release. “Yodha” was part of Prime Video’s ambitious 69-title 2024 slate of new and returning series and films, announced in March at a star-studded event hosted by Johar.
