‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Darren Kent Passes Away

The world bid adieu to the British actor who played a Goatherd from Slavers Bay in HBO’s hit series ‘Game of Thrones,’ Darren Kent.

His agency, Carey Dodd Associates, announced that on August 11, 2023, Kent died at the age of 36 with his parents and best friend by his side. He suffered from osteoporosis, arthritis, and a rare skin disorder.

Kent, who is also known for his role as a skeleton in ‘Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,’ worked with the Mushroom Theatre Company and was on the BBC soap opera ‘EastEnders’ in 2022.

The Essex-born actor made his first appearance on ‘Game of Thrones’ in the June 2014 season-four finale episode, and although he was not a main character, he made a strong impression and was recognized by many.

Variety reported that Kent was named best actor at the Van D’or Awards in 2012 for his character Danny, a boy with a rare skin disorder that did not let him be in the sun, in ‘Sunny Boy.’

Kent was a part of many other movies, including ‘Mirrors’ (2008), ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ (2012), ‘My Feral Heart’ (2016), ‘The Little Stranger’ (2018), ‘Jeepers Creepers: Reborn’ (2022), and ‘Love Without Walls (2023).’

Darren Kent was also an award-winning director who wrote and helmed multiple movies, including the 2015 crime drama ‘Abusing Protocol.’
