‘Friends’ Star Matthew Perry passes away at 54

The world bid adieu to the American television sitcom, ‘Friends’ actor Matthew Perry. He was 54 years old. Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that on October 28, 2023, Matthew was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles residence. At about 4 p.m., authorities located him unresponsive, and there were no signs of foul play or drugs on the scene.

Mathew earned international recognition for his role as the ‘king of sarcasm’ Chandler Bing on ‘Friends,’ which lasted for ten seasons from 1994 to 2004. He gained a Primetime Emmy nomination in 2002 for his performance on the iconic sitcom. Mathew pondered extensively on his battles with drugs and alcohol in his 2022 memoir, ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,’ and during the promotion of the book, he said that he had been clean for 18 months but had to spend a lot of money trying to get there.

NBC also issued a statement paying tribute to the actor. The statement read,
“We are incredibly saddened by the too soon passing of Matthew Perry. He brought so much joy to hundreds of millions of people around the world with his pitch perfect comedic timing and wry wit. His legacy will live on through countless generations.”
Matthew Perry’s survivors are not known as of now, as although he freely expressed a desire to settle down and start a family, he never married and had no children.
