Fawad Khan is Back! Actor Apologizes to Indian Fans for Long Absence in New Series Barzakh

Pakistani heartthrob returns to Indian screens in supernatural drama

Fawad Khan, the Pakistani actor who stole hearts in Bollywood films like “Khoobsurat” and “Kapoor & Sons,” is finally back on Indian screens. After an eight-year hiatus, Khan is making his highly anticipated return in the new supernatural series “Barzakh,” which premiered on Zee5 on July 19th, 2024.

In a sweet gesture to his Indian fans, Khan even apologized for the long wait during a recent interview with PTI. He acknowledged that while his absence was out of his control, he still felt responsible for the gap. Khan also expressed his belief in perfect timing, while jokingly acknowledging the saying “out of sight, out of mind.”

“Barzakh” reunites Khan with his “Zindagi Gulzar Hai” co-star Sanam Saeed. The series is a unique Indian-Pakistani co-production that follows the story of a 76-year-old man who has an unconventional wedding with the ghost of his first love. Written and directed by Asim Abbasi, the show also features a talented cast including Salman Shahid, Khushhal Khan, Faiza Gillani, Eman Suleman, and Sajid Hassan.
