Eddie Murphy to Star as Retired Superspy in Sony’s Action Comedy ‘Blue Falcon’

‘London Has Fallen’ Writer Chad St. John Pens Script; Murphy Also Set for ‘Shrek 5’ and George Clinton Biopic

Sony Pictures has announced that Eddie Murphy will headline their upcoming action-comedy, ‘Blue Falcon’. The film, scripted by Chad St. John, known for ‘London Has Fallen’, centers on a retired superspy (Murphy) attending his estranged son’s destination wedding, where he encounters his longtime adversary.

Production will be led by John Davis of Davis Films, Cliff Roberts of Syndicate Entertainment, and Murphy himself alongside Charisse Hewitt-Webster under Eddie Murphy Productions.

Murphy’s recent projects include starring in Netflix’s ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’. He is also set to reunite with ‘Dreamgirls’ director Bill Condon for a biopic on Parliament-Funkadelic founder George Clinton. Additionally, Murphy will reprise his role as Donkey in ‘Shrek 5’, scheduled for a December 2026 release.
