Dua Lipa, a singer, appears to be putting down her microphone and donning her best acting guise in order to take over the world of motion films and win an Oscar. According to Mirror.co.uk, the chart-topping singer will make her acting debut in Matthew Vaughn’s upcoming spy thriller “Argylle,” which also stars Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Despite receiving a tonne of screenplays, an industry source stated to The Sun on Sunday that Dua was more interested in taking on serious dramas that would garner Oscar attention.

“Dua has a tonne of screenplays to choose from, but she is more interested in taking on serious dramas that would garner Oscar hype. The source went on to say, as stated by Mirror.co.uk: “She wants to seriously begin her acting career. In order for her and her team to option and market tales they believe in with larger studios, she plans to launch her own TV and film production firm.”
