Diljit Dosanjh Turns Sleuth in ‘Detective Sherdil’ — Premieres June 20 on ZEE5

Directed by newcomer Ravi Chhabriya and backed by Ali Abbas Zafar, this comedy-mystery marks Diljit’s second collaboration with the Jogi team.

Diljit Dosanjh is back on screen in a brand-new avatar, and this time, he’s donning the detective’s hat! The highly anticipated film Detective Sherdil is all set to premiere exclusively on ZEE5 on June 20. Starring alongside Dosanjh are Diana Penty and veteran actor Boman Irani in pivotal roles.

Described as a fun blend of comedy and mystery, the film follows a quirky detective assigned to unravel an exceptionally bizarre case. The story promises an entertaining ride full of unexpected twists and family-friendly humor.

The film marks the directorial debut of Ravi Chhabriya and is penned by a creative trio—Ali Abbas Zafar, Sagar Bajaj, and Ravi Chhabriya himself. Notably, Detective Sherdil reunites Dosanjh with producer Ali Abbas Zafar after their critically acclaimed drama Jogi.

Reflecting on their collaboration, Zafar shared, “After Jogi, I knew Diljit and I had to work together again. He’s a powerhouse of talent, and Detective Sherdil gave us the perfect opportunity to create something entirely different—something that’s equal parts hilarious and mysterious.”

Produced by Himanshu Mehra, Ali Abbas Zafar, Rohini Singh, and Manmeet Singh, the film aims to deliver a lighthearted yet gripping experience for audiences of all ages.
