Dhanush Teams Up with SJ Suryah for Directorial Venture “Raayan”

Actor Dhanush made a significant announcement on X, unveiling SJ Suryah as the director for his upcoming film, “Raayan”. With Sundeep Kishan and Kalidas Jayaram in pivotal roles, this marks Dhanush’s second directorial project following “Pa Paandi” in 2017. Dhanush shared a monochromatic glimpse of Suryah, capturing him pensively holding a glass. In his caption, Dhanush expressed his enjoyment in directing Suryah, stating, “#Raayan Had great fun directing you @iam_SJSuryah sir (hug emoji).” Suryah reciprocated the sentiment by sharing Dhanush’s post, expressing gratitude for the opportunity and describing “Raayan” as a raw, rustic, yet emotionally resonant project.

Amidst recent rumors suggesting Selvaraghavan’s involvement in scripting, Dhanush clarified on X that his brother was solely acting in the film, stating, “Friends, heard reports that I have written the script for D 50 RAAYAN. I clarify that I have NOTHING to do with ‘RAAYAN‘s script or scripting process.” He further emphasized his eagerness for the audience to experience “Raayan” in theaters, commending his brother’s dedication to the project.

On February 19, Dhanush unveiled the first look poster of his 50th film, “Raayan”. The poster featured Dhanush, Sundeep, and Kalidas standing before a bloodied food truck, holding sharp tools with aprons stained red. The official announcement on Sun Pictures’ X handle confirmed the film’s title, director, music composer (Rahman), and plans for a multilingual release. Aparna Balamurali also stars in the film.
