Varun Dhawan Points Finger at Janhvi Kapoor’s Expression for Controversial Statement in Recent Interview

The upcoming film ‘Bawaal’ starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor has been generating buzz ever since its trailer release. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the movie is highly anticipated and is set to premiere on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video on July 21st, 2023. However, the stars have now made headlines for a different reason as Varun Dhawan, in a recent interview, addressed his controversial ‘blowj*b’ statement and attributed the ensuing uproar to Janhvi Kapoor’s expression. Known for his unfiltered nature, Varun Dhawan never shies away from making bold statements or expressing his opinions. During a roundtable discussion, Dhawan commented, “I mean, it’s a blowj*b to everyone’s ego that you know that you’re a star, you’re this, and you’re that. But eventually, when people are watching the cinema, they just want to be entertained. That’s it.” This statement quickly went viral on social media, creating quite a stir.

It’s worth mentioning that Janhvi Kapoor was also present at the same roundtable and her reaction to Varun Dhawan’s statement added fuel to the controversy. In his recent interview with Zoom, Dhawan explained, “I didn’t think there was a big deal in that. It was because of her (Janhvi) expression it was. Nobody else on that table gave an expression like that,” referring to the controversy surrounding his remarks.

When reminded of Ayushmann Khurrana’s surprised reaction to his statement, the ‘Bawaal’ actor shrugged it off, saying, “Ayushmann just blushed, it’s okay.”

Dhawan concluded by remarking, “People say curb it, then they say you are very unique only you talk like that, I don’t know actually, just being politically correct has become a thing right now.”
