Chris Hemsworth Set to Lead Transformers and G.I. Joe Crossover Film

Marvel Star to Continue Expanding His Franchise Universe with New Paramount and Hasbro Project

Chris Hemsworth is in advanced discussions to headline an upcoming crossover film that will unite the Transformers and G.I. Joe franchises. This exciting project, a collaboration between Paramount and Hasbro Entertainment, marks Hemsworth’s second venture into the Transformers universe. He is already set to voice a character in the animated movie “Transformers One,” which is scheduled for release on September 20.

The new film will follow the storyline established in last year’s “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” where Anthony Ramos’ character, Noah Diaz, receives a job offer from the G.I. Joes. This narrative direction was strongly supported by producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and incorporated into the script by director Steven Caple Jr.

“The studio was enthusiastic and eager to explore the crossover idea,” Caple shared with The Hollywood Reporter last year, referencing a crossover graphic novel that provided inspiration. “It took almost two years to navigate the entire process, consult with everyone involved, and solidify the concept.”

Although Caple expressed interest in directing the crossover, he is not currently attached to the project. The movie is still in the development phase, with no confirmed writer or director. However, it boasts a powerhouse team of producers including di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy, with Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment serving as executive producers.

Hemsworth, internationally acclaimed for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, continues to expand his franchise repertoire. He recently starred in “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” and leads Netflix’s popular “Extraction” series.
