In a significant move for crime drama enthusiasts, CBS has announced the renewal of its trio of investigative thrillers, extending their runs for multiple seasons. “FBI,” the flagship series, has been granted a substantial three-season pickup, ensuring its presence on the network until at least the 2026-2027 broadcast season. Alongside it, “FBI: Most Wanted” and “FBI: International” have also been greenlit for their respective upcoming seasons, promising viewers a continued dose of high-stakes action and suspense.

Set to grace screens for the 2024-2025 broadcast season, the three shows currently form a formidable Tuesday night lineup on CBS. Spearheaded by prolific producer Dick Wolf and his Wolf Entertainment banner, in collaboration with Universal Television and CBS Studios, the “FBI” franchise has cemented its status as a primetime powerhouse.

Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm for the network’s decision, citing the unwavering dedication of the creative teams and the enduring appeal of the series to audiences. With a blend of compelling storytelling and captivating performances, the shows have cultivated a loyal fanbase over multiple seasons.

Statistics provided by CBS underscore the immense popularity of the “FBI” universe, with “FBI” averaging an impressive 12.3 million viewers per episode in Live+35 multiplatform ratings. Similarly, “FBI: International” and “FBI: Most Wanted” boast substantial viewership, averaging 9.6 million and 10.3 million viewers respectively.

Producer Dick Wolf conveyed his gratitude for the network’s continued support, acknowledging the pivotal role played by CBS executives George Cheeks and Amy Reisenbach in securing the renewals.

Each installment of the franchise boasts a stellar ensemble cast, with “FBI” featuring talents like Missy Peregrym, Zeeko Zaki, and Jeremy Sisto. Meanwhile, “FBI: Most Wanted” stars Dylan McDermott and Shantel VanSanten, among others. The productions are helmed by a seasoned team of executive producers, ensuring a seamless blend of gripping narratives and dynamic characters.

Universal Studio Group handles domestic distribution, while Paramount Global Content Distribution oversees international distribution of the series.

The announcement follows a recent wave of renewals for Wolf’s franchises, including “Chicago Med,” “Chicago Fire,” and “Chicago P.D.” on NBC. While talks regarding the future of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” remain ongoing, the momentum behind Wolf’s creations continues to captivate audiences and networks alike.
