CBS Announces Premiere Date for ‘After Midnight,’
the Smartest Late-Night Show on the Dumbest Internet Trends, Hosted by Taylor Tomlinson”

CBS has set a premiere date for the upcoming American late-night show, ‘After Midnight,’ hosted by comedian Taylor Tomlinson.
The show, which is based on Comedy Central’s @midnight, will debut on January 16, 2024, or technically January 17, 2024, as it will premiere at 12:37 a.m. ET/PT, but at the tail end of the Jan. 16 broadcast day.
The show will present a panel of comics, actors, and other celebrities talking about the internet buzz of the day in a game-show structure. The show’s mission statement states it to be “the smartest show on television about the dumbest things on the internet.” The guest lineups for the show are to be announced later.
‘After Midnight’ will take up the post-Late Show with Stephen Colbert time slot previously held by ‘The Late Late Show,’ which aired for 28 years with four different hosts. James Corden’s eight-year run as host concluded in April 2023. CBS has been airing episodes of Byron Allen’s ‘Comics Unleashed’ at 12:37 a.m. for the last several months.
The executive producers of the show include Stephen Colbert, Tom Purcell, Carrie Byalick, James Dixon, Evelyn McGee Colbert, Joe Farrell, Mike Farah, Whitney Hodack, Henry R. Muñoz III, and Jason U. Nadler. Spartina Productions, Funny or Die, and CBS Studios are the production companies.
