Bollywood Star Saif Ali Khan Hospitalized After Violent Home Invasion

Actor undergoes surgery following multiple stab wounds inflicted by intruder at Mumbai residence

In the early hours of January 16, 2025, renowned Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unidentified intruder at his residence in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb. The assailant reportedly entered Khan’s home around 3:30 a.m., leading to a violent confrontation during which the actor sustained six stab wounds, two of which were severe and one perilously close to his spine. A foreign object was also detected near his spine.

Khan, 54, was promptly transported to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent surgery to address his injuries. Hospital officials have indicated that the full extent of the damage will be assessed upon completion of the procedure. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the intruder fled the scene immediately after the incident. Mumbai Police have launched an investigation and are actively searching for the perpetrator.

The assault on such a high-profile figure has sparked widespread concern regarding safety in Mumbai. Public figures and politicians have called for enhanced security measures, emphasizing that if a well-guarded celebrity can be attacked in his own home, the safety of ordinary citizens is in jeopardy. Actor and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt remarked that the city, particularly Bandra, has “never felt so unsafe before.”
