‘Blue Eye Samurai’ To Come Back with Season 2 on Netflix

Netflix has renewed the French-American adult animated action streaming television series ‘Blue Eye Samurai’ for a second season.

Writers, creators, and executive producers, Amber Noizumi and Michael Green, who are married, made a statement announcing the renewal. The statement read,

“When we started this project, we made a commitment to take this very personal story set in Edo-period Japan and bring it to life in the most authentic and beautiful way possible. Our animators, historians, musicians, martial artists and voice cast made this a reality beyond our expectations. We are thankful to our entire team and to our viewers from all over the world who have shown such passion for Mizu and her path of revenge. Mizu has a lot more blood to spill! We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners at Netflix for letting the journey continue.”

The series is set during Japan’s Edo period (17th century) when half-white, half-Japanese swordsmaster Mizu seeks vengeance on four white men who unlawfully remain in Japan amid the Tokugawa shogunate’s closure of its borders.

The voice cast of ‘Blue Eye Samurai’ includes Maya Erskine, George Takei, Masi Oka, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Brenda Song, Darren Barnet, Randall Park, and Kenneth Branagh. Blue Spirit is the animation studio for the series.
