‘Billions’ To Bid Adieu With Season 07
Showtime confirmed that the American drama television series, ‘Billions’ will be coming back for another season, which will also be the series finale.
Season 7 of ‘Billions’ will mark the much-awaited return of Damian Lewis as Bobby Axelrod and will start streaming on August 11, 2023, with an on-air premiere at 8 p.m.
Damian Lewis will be rejoining the cast that includes Paul Giamatti, Maggie Siff, Corey Stoll, David Costabile, Asia Kate Dillon, Dola Rashad, Jeffrey DeMunn, Sakina Jaffrey, Daniel Breaker, and Toney Goins.
Showtime summarized the 12-episode final season as,
“Alliances are turned on their heads. Old wounds are weaponized. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become wary friends. And Bobby Axelrod returns, as the stakes grow from Wall Street to the world.”
The show, which portrayed the world of high finance and politics, initially debuted on the premium cabler in 2016.
The Hollywood Reporter informed that with ‘Billions’ coming to an end, the world of the show could continue as Showtime is creating several spinoffs (two of which are tentatively named ‘Millions’ and ‘Trillions’) with co-creators Brian Koppelman and David Levien. The potential spinoffs are part of the American premium television network’s strategy to franchise some of its most successful original series.
