Bhumi Pednekar Takes on a Riveting Role in Bhakshak, Unveils Powerful Trailer

Bhumi Pednekar’s latest film, Bhakshak, meaning “predator,” teases a gripping narrative where she portrays an investigative journalist determined to expose the culprits behind a sexual assault case in a shelter home. Directed by Pulkit, the trailer unveils the dark side of a girls’ shelter home managed by Aditya Srivastava, alias Bansi Sahu, shedding light on real-life incidents.
Defying advice, Bhumi takes on the challenge to bring the truth to light in the lawsuit against the perpetrators. The film also features Surya Sharma, Sai Tamhankar, and Sanjay Mishra, with support from Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment. Shah Rukh Khan shared the impactful trailer on Instagram, calling it “a story of resilience” and urging conversations for meaningful change.
In a recent interview with news agency ANI, Bhumi discussed her challenging experience embodying the role of a journalist. She emphasized the courage required in journalism, especially when confronting those in power. Bhumi expressed her admiration for journalists and shared that working on Bhakshak was an honor, addressing a sensitive and hard-hitting topic that aims to spark conversations leading to meaningful change, particularly regarding crimes against children. The film is set to release on Netflix on 9th February.
