Ben Affleck Reflects on ‘Daredevil’ Legacy Amidst Reunion with Jon Bernthal in ‘The Accountant 2’
Actor discusses Marvel’s evolution and praises Bernthal’s portrayal of The Punisher.

Ben Affleck is set to reunite on screen with Jon Bernthal in the upcoming action thriller, ‘The Accountant 2.’ However, fans should not anticipate any Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) crossovers between their characters from previous Marvel projects.
Affleck, who portrayed Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the 2003 film ‘Daredevil,’ recently reflected on Marvel’s cinematic evolution. He noted that his experience predated Kevin Feige’s leadership, which brought a cohesive tone to Marvel films. Affleck remarked, “It was before Kevin Feige had stepped into the role of running Marvel. He imposed a kind of clarity of tone across those movies that sort of figured out the trickiest thing.”\
Praising Bernthal’s performance as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Affleck stated, “Well, his Punisher is good.” He also expressed admiration for the Daredevil character’s enduring appeal, acknowledging Charlie Cox’s subsequent portrayal in Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ series and the recent ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ Affleck added, “There’s a new Daredevil, I haven’t seen it yet, but I certainly love the character, I wish him the best, but I wouldn’t tangle with his Punisher.”
In ‘The Accountant 2,’ scheduled for theatrical release on April 25, 2025, Affleck and Bernthal reprise their roles as brothers Christian and Braxton Wolff. The sequel follows the siblings as they collaborate to track down a mysterious assassin, delving deeper into their complex relationship. This film comes nearly a decade after the original 2016 release.
