Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Sequel Teaser Unleashes Sneak Peek at Tim Burton’s Return

Warner Bros has set the stage for excitement with the release of the teaser trailer for the highly anticipated sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Directed by the visionary Tim Burton, the film promises to rekindle the magic of the 1988 classic, bringing back beloved characters portrayed by Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and the iconic Michael Keaton as the mischievous ghost, Beetlejuice.

Scheduled for release on September 6, the teaser drop follows a wave of anticipation stirred by the first glimpses of the film earlier in the week. Clocking in at just over a minute, the teaser tantalizes viewers with a brief yet electrifying moment, featuring Keaton’s Beetlejuice emerging from his miniature town in the attic to deliver his trademark line to a startled Lydia (Ryder), “The Juice is loose.”

Joining the stellar cast are Jenna Ortega, Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, Arthur Conti, and Monica Bellucci, adding fresh energy to the sequel.

The storyline follows Lydia, still haunted by Beetlejuice, whose life takes an unexpected turn when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid (played by Ortega), stumbles upon the mysterious model town in the attic, inadvertently opening a portal to the Afterlife. As chaos brews in both realms, it becomes inevitable that someone will utter Beetlejuice’s name three times, setting the stage for the return of the mischievous demon and his unique brand of mayhem.

Penned by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar, with a story by Gough & Millar and Seth Grahame-Smith, the screenplay builds upon the beloved characters created by Michael McDowell & Larry Wilson.

Speaking about the sequel, Keaton shared in an interview earlier this month, “It’s beautiful, physically. The other one was so fun and exciting visually, it’s all that but really beautiful and interestingly emotional here and there. I wasn’t ready for that. It’s great.”

Ortega, glimpsed briefly in the teaser navigating her bike across the town’s iconic wooden bridge, which featured prominently in the original film, hinted at the sequel’s direction. Playing Lydia’s daughter and Delia’s granddaughter, she teased, “There’s a lot of catching up and putting the pieces together of what’s gone on in Lydia’s life since, which is nice, I think, for anybody who loves the character and is excited to see her again.”
