Apple TV+ Expands Comedy Lineup with Owen Wilson’s Latest Venture”

Apple TV+ has unveiled its plans to bolster its comedy roster with a brand-new 10-episode series featuring the charismatic Owen Wilson (“Loki,” “The Royal Tenenbaums,” “Midnight in Paris”). Wilson will not only star in the comedy but also serve as an executive producer, alongside the creative prowess of Jason Keller (“Ford v Ferrari”), who takes on the roles of creator, writer, and executive producer.

The narrative revolves around Pryce Cahill, portrayed by Wilson, an ex-professional golfer whose career met an abrupt halt two decades ago. Faced with unemployment after losing his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and enduring the departure of his wife, Pryce stakes his future on a troubled 17-year-old golf prodigy.

Produced under the banner of Apple Studios, the series, yet to be titled, will be helmed by the accomplished duo of Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (“Fleishman is in Trouble,” “Little Miss Sunshine,” “Battle of the Sexes”). Executive producers for the venture include Ben Silverman (“The Office”), Howard T. Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Guymon Casady (known for upcoming projects like “Ripley” and “The Fall Guy”), Lee Eisenberg, Natalie Sandy, Chris Moynihan, Jason Keller, and Owen Wilson. Bill Callahan joins the team as an executive producer.

This addition adds to Apple TV+’s growing library of acclaimed original comedies, such as the multi-Emmy Award-winning “Ted Lasso,” the Emmy-nominated “Shrinking,” along with returning favorites like “Platonic” and “Loot,” and the eagerly awaited “Palm Royale,” which boasts an ensemble of A-list talent.

Apple TV+ continues to deliver premium entertainment across various genres, including drama, comedy, feature films, documentaries, and family-oriented content, accessible on all preferred devices. Since its inception on November 1, 2019, Apple TV+ has set milestones as the first all-original streaming service available worldwide, swiftly garnering critical acclaim and accolades. The platform’s original productions have amassed an impressive 479 wins and over 2,107 award nominations to date, with standout successes like the Emmy darling “Ted Lasso” and the groundbreaking Oscar Best Picture winner “CODA.”
