Anurag Kashyap Praises Ranbir Kapoor, Reveals Being Ghosted by Emerging Actors

The filmmaker discusses admiration for Kapoor and his experience with unresponsive actors in recent interviews

Anurag Kashyap, known for his candid nature, recently shared his admiration for Ranbir Kapoor, describing him as “one of the finest actors” in an interview with Pinkvilla. Kashyap, who never hesitates to voice his opinions, also opened up about being ghosted by two actors who started their careers with him.

During an interview with Fever FM, Kashyap discussed his experiences with young actors who have seen significant career growth. While he appreciates those who directly decline offers, he expressed frustration with actors who either delay their responses for years or disappear without any communication.

Kashyap stated, “It still happens. There are two actors who started their careers with me and then ghosted me on the film that I am doing. They didn’t care to say a yes or no, they just ghosted.”

In his interview with Pinkvilla, Kashyap didn’t hold back his praise for Ranbir Kapoor, stating, “I see every film of his. I think he is one of the finest actors. I am delighted to watch him.”

Kashyap, known for his roles in films like *Akira* and *AK vs AK*, is set to appear in Aditya Datt’s Disney+ Hotstar series *Bad Cop*. In this series, produced by Fremantle India and adapted from the original German drama from RTL, he stars alongside Gulshan Devaiah. The cast also includes Harleen Sethi, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Aishwarya Sushmita.

In *Bad Cop*, Kashyap plays the dark, manipulative Kazbe Mama. Devaiah portrays twins Karan and Arjun, who have vastly different personalities—Karan being a dedicated policeman and Arjun a clever thief. Their fates become intertwined in ways that dramatically alter their lives.
