Anurag Kashyap Joins Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in ‘Dacoit: A Love Story’ as Fearless Inspector Swamy

The highly anticipated pan-India action film ‘Dacoit: A Love Story’ has unveiled a significant addition to its ensemble cast. Renowned filmmaker and actor Anurag Kashyap is set to portray Inspector Swamy, a fearless and witty police officer who is a staunch devotee of Lord Ayyappa. This character brings a unique blend of sharp intellect and dry humor to the narrative, enriching the film’s dramatic and action-packed storyline.

The film, directed by Shaneil Deo, stars Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. ‘Dacoit: A Love Story’ delves into the journey of an enraged convict seeking revenge on his ex-girlfriend for her betrayal. As he devises a perilous plan to ensnare her, the plot unfolds into an intense saga of love, treachery, and retribution.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Anurag Kashyap shared, “Portraying a police officer who is an Ayyappa devotee is both enjoyable and challenging. The dilemmas of duty versus dharma, coupled with executing his responsibilities with a dry sense of humor, are fascinating aspects. The screenplay and story are collaboratively crafted by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. The film is being shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, with current production taking place in Hyderabad. An extensive shooting schedule in Maharashtra is set to follow.
