Samberg Set to Star in Action Comedy Directed by Radio Silence

In a recent deal reported by Deadline, Amazon MGM Studios has successfully acquired the highly anticipated package for “The Robots Go Crazy,” with none other than Andy Samberg slated to lead the cast. The directing duties have been entrusted to the acclaimed duo, Radio Silence, known for their gripping storytelling prowess.
Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence will not only helm the project but also take on producer roles alongside Samberg and Ali Bell through The Lonely Island’s banner, Party Over Here. Joining them in the production are Chad Villella from Radio Silence and Jon Silk from Silk Mass. Adding to the creative ensemble, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone will produce under Party Over Here, promising a blend of comedic genius and thrilling narrative.
While specific plot details remain under wraps, insiders describe the film as an exhilarating action comedy, hinting at a rollercoaster ride of laughs and adrenaline-fueled escapades.
Andy Samberg, celebrated for his dynamic performances on SNL and in hit shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, continues to solidify his presence in both television and film. His upcoming biographical film, “Lee,” co-starring alongside Kate Winslet, is eagerly awaited by fans, slated for a nationwide release on September 20.
In addition to his screen ventures, Samberg recently ventured into the world of podcasting with a new show featuring Seth Meyers, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone. Aptly titled “The Lonely Island & Seth Meyers Podcast,” the series delves into the iconic SNL Digital Shorts that revolutionized comedy.
Samberg’s creative ventures extend beyond acting and podcasting, as he lends his voice to the animated series “Digman!” on Comedy Central, a project he co-created and co-wrote with Neil Campbell. Once again, Ali Bell and The Lonely Island’s Party Over Here banner join forces to bring this animated comedy to life.
Having left an indelible mark on the horror genre with the revitalization of the “Scream” franchise, Radio Silence’s recent directorial venture, “Abigail,” for Universal, underscores their versatility and storytelling prowess across genres. With “The Robots Go Crazy,” audiences can anticipate another exhilarating cinematic experience from this talented creative team.
