Alia Bhatt Slams Cosmetic Surgery Rumors in Fierce Instagram Open Letter
“Celebrate Individuality, Not Tear It Apart,” Alia Calls Out Internet’s Obsession with Appearance

Alia Bhatt took to Instagram this morning to respond to rumors surrounding her appearance, shutting down speculation about alleged cosmetic procedures in a strongly worded, four-part open letter. In the post, Alia expressed frustration at baseless claims circulating online, including suggestions of botched Botox and paralysis on one side of her face.
The Bollywood star began by emphasizing that she holds no judgment toward those who choose cosmetic surgery, saying, “Your body, your choice.” However, she condemned the internet’s “microscopic judgment” of her face and criticized the media for amplifying such rumors.
“Wow, this is beyond ridiculous! You’re tossing around serious medical claims with zero proof,” she wrote, addressing those who accused her of altered facial expressions. “These judgments influence young, impressionable minds. Why say these things? For clickbait? Attention? None of it makes sense.”
Alia also spoke about the damaging impact of objectifying women’s appearances online. She highlighted how public figures are frequently scrutinized, whether for their faces, bodies, or even pregnancies.
“We should celebrate individuality, not tear it apart under a microscope,” she urged, pointing out how these harsh judgments perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards and leave people feeling inadequate. She further lamented that much of this criticism often comes from other women, questioning the loss of solidarity.
“Whatever happened to ‘live and let live’? Instead of empowering each other, we’ve normalized tearing people down,” she wrote. Alia ended her message on a note of exasperation, calling the entire ordeal “just another day of entertainment scripted by the internet.”
The candid post has sparked discussions on social media about body positivity, self-acceptance, and the toxicity of beauty standards. Alia’s message serves as a call to action for more kindness, both online and offline.
