Alia Bhatt Masters Motherhood and Movie Magic: Night Shoots by SLB, Daytime with Daughter
Co-parenting with Ranbir on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War is “all pros,” and motherhood is now steering Alia toward fun, family-friendly films.

Alia Bhatt continues to shine both on-screen and off, balancing her rising stardom with life as a dedicated mother. While taking on a lead role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated epic Love & War (co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal), she’s also managing the joys and responsibilities of raising her toddler, Raha.
In a candid chat with Grazia, the actress shared how she and Ranbir have turned filming into a coordinated family ballet. “It sounds cheesy, but there are no cons to this—only pros,” she laughed, explaining that night shoots for the film allow them to spend precious daytime hours with their daughter. And on the rare occasions when sets overlap, they juggle duties so each parent is there for Raha when needed.
Alia also revealed that they sometimes bring her to the set, where she delights in the ambiance of cameras and lights. Beyond the spectacle of filming, Raha’s days are full of “classes, playdates, grandparents, and activities,” underscoring how “it does take a village,” Alia remarked gratefully.
Even amid this busy schedule, Alia remains thoughtful about her future artistic choices. Motherhood has inspired her to explore new genres — specifically, comedy. She admitted she’s never starred in a film suitable for her daughter’s eyes, and that’s guiding her next move. “The reason I’m being pulled towards a comedy is that I haven’t done one. … I haven’t made a film that Raha can watch,” she confessed, teasing that while nothing is confirmed, “there is some exciting stuff” on the horizon.
