Adria Arjona Joins Amazon Prime’s Crime Thriller “Criminal”

Emerald City” Star Takes on Role of Sharp-Tongued Thief in Series Adaptation of Popular Graphic Novels

Adria Arjona has been cast in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series “Criminal,” based on the acclaimed graphic novels by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. Arjona is the second confirmed cast member, joining the previously announced Richard Jenkins.

“Criminal” explores an interconnected universe of crime stories, promising a gripping narrative for fans of the genre. Arjona will play Greta, a skilled car thief and driver who is also a widowed mother. Greta’s husband died during a botched bank job, leaving her to navigate the dangerous world of crime alone. Described as sharp-tongued and resourceful, Greta seeks a major score to escape her current life with her daughter, Angie.

Adria Arjona is currently featured in Richard Linklater’s film “Hit Man” alongside Glen Powell. She will also appear in Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut “Blink Twice.” Her film credits include the 2022 reboot of “Father of the Bride,” “Morbius,” “Triple Frontier,” and “Six Underground.” On television, Arjona starred in NBC’s “Emerald City” and had roles in “Andor,” “True Detective,” “Irma Vep,” “Good Omens,” and “Narcos.”

Ed Brubaker will co-showrun and executive produce “Criminal” with Jordan Harper. Sean Phillips, Sarah Carbiener, and Phillip Barnett are also executive producers. Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden will direct the first four episodes. Legendary Television and Amazon MGM Studios are producing the series.

With its strong creative team and talented cast, “Criminal” is set to deliver a compelling and intricate crime drama to Amazon Prime Video subscribers.
