Abhishek Bachchan In Talks to Join Prabhas in Hanu Raghavapudi’s Tentative War-Drama Fauji

Production house warns of cybercrime action as leaked set photos emerge; film is said to feature a big-role approach for Abhishek while work continues under tight wraps.

Prabhas, who has been juggling several big-budget projects post Baahubali, is currently working with Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi on a large-scale historical drama, tentatively titled Fauji. While the film is being referred to as HanuPRabhas during production, reports suggest that Fauji is the working title. The project is said to be set in the 1940s, with Prabhas appearing in a striking new avatar that has already made waves online.

The biggest buzz around the film at present is that Abhishek Bachchan may join the cast in a significant role. Sources indicate that the makers have approached him and discussions are ongoing, although there has been no official confirmation yet. If finalized, this would mark Abhishek’s first collaboration with Prabhas, adding a strong Bollywood presence to the pan-India film.

Alongside these casting developments, the film has been in the headlines for another reason—unauthorized photo leaks. Images from the set showing Prabhas’s new look were widely circulated on social media, prompting the production house to issue a stern warning. They declared that such leaks not only lower team morale but will also be treated as cybercrime, with strict legal action against those responsible.

The film already boasts an impressive line-up, with Mithun Chakraborty and Jaya Prada reportedly signed on in key roles, and actress Imanvi playing the female lead. On the technical side, Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the music, cinematography is being handled by Sudeep Chatterjee, Sheetal Sharma is in charge of costumes, and Krishna Kanth is penning the lyrics.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan’s most recent release, Kaalidhar Laapata, premiered directly on streaming platforms. In the film, he portrayed a man struggling with a degenerative illness while forming an unlikely bond with an orphan boy. His possible addition to Fauji signals a continued push toward versatile roles that bridge mainstream and experimental cinema.

With its high-profile cast, striking visuals, and the aura of secrecy around it, Fauji is already shaping up as one of the most anticipated pan-India films. However, until the makers make an official announcement, the details of Abhishek Bachchan’s role—and the film’s final title—remain speculative.
