BAHIRAWAKANDA TEMPLE
The name Bahirawakanda, which translates to “Gnome Mountain,” refers to the lore associated with the hill where the temple is located. In the past, the nearby people thought that the hill was the home of a malicious gnome that devoured unwary humans.
This location offers a stunning panorama of Kandy town as a whole. One must not miss the 88-foot-tall Buddha statue while in Kandy. Due to its prominent placement atop Bahirava Kanda (the devil’s hill), the white statue is visible from all parts of Peradeniya city.

ST. CLAIR’S FALLS

One of the largest falls in Sri Lanka, St. Clair’s is situated in the Talawakele town of the Nuwara Eliya District.
Maha Ella, also known as “The Greater Fall” in Sinhala, is 260 feet high. Kuda Ella, also known as “The Lesser Fall,” is 160 feet high and is situated immediately below of the main fall.
