PLOT
In this horror-comedy, Renfield is a loyal aide to Dracula, his narcissistic boss, procuring human prey daily. After centuries of servitude, Renfield seeks freedom from The Prince of Darkness and his codependency.
The film’s decisive and original action scenes are its most compelling feature. Picture someone bleeding profusely or a single strike shattering every bone in their body. It has action choreography with clever and savvy use of special effects interwoven. It appears authentic and merits seeing on a large screen.
REVIEW
We are welcomed inside Count Dracula’s ominous world throughout the film. It has a human body spewing blood, its arms torn off and used as weapons, evil guys hit with bone-crushing force, and a bloodthirsty monster constantly prepared to rip into human flesh. He embodies evil and possesses the capacity to control people on a physical and psychological level.
Renfield, who has been blindly delivering blood to his employer while temporarily transforming into a killing machine, is one of his victims. But he wants out after an accidental encounter with an upright police woman named Rebecca Quincy, who was still nursing old wounds. Together, they have the potential to cause significant trouble and significant violence.
However, the tone changes between the darker and humorous portions of the script can be startling at times. It is primarily due to how weakly amusing the comedy is. According to director Chris McKay, the action is delivered at regular intervals with just enough room for character development in between.
The performance of Cage, who seems to relish playing his scary persona genuinely, is the film’s high point. His make-up was a little less gimmicky because it took away from the menace intended for his role. With his boyish charm firmly in situ, Hoult succeeds well as a youthful-looking older man.
Awkwafina seemed a little out of place in her de-glam persona of a cop on duty facing nuclear war with just a service handgun in hand. But before taking out all the strong evil men, we would anticipate that a motivated police officer would first lose some weight.

The writing is often predictable but pleasant, as is the climax. But in the end, the one thing that will stick with you is its frantic take on the traditional vampire tale, which is presented with stylized and gory action that is not for the faint of heart. As a result, it was given three stars out of five.
