PLOT
A wild group of cops, criminals, tourists, and teenagers converge in a Georgia forest where a 500-pound apex predator has ingested an astonishing amount of cocaine and gone on a coke-fueled rampage for more blow and blood. The true account of a drug runner’s plane crash, missing cocaine, and the black bear that consumed it from 1985 served as the basis for this fictional story.
You’ll squeal with delight and giggle throughout, yet you’ll also scream and wriggle. The violence is frequently so gruesome and brutal. The terrifying moments sometimes don’t involve the bear, but all these foolish individuals seek alternative ways to get hurt.
REVIEW
The creature’s appearance, shockingly high-tech for a corny, ridiculous movie, contributes significantly to the enjoyment of “Cocaine Bear.” Stuntman Allan Henry performed a motion capture performance to bring her to life, while Weta FX, a renowned New Zealand studio, provided the CGI. Although the movements have been exaggerated and the animal has been anthropomorphized to an extreme, they create just enough realism to make the bear’s attacks terrifying.
Certain characters are solely there to make people laugh; some are purposefully and accidentally humorous. The film is as delighted in killing as it highlights the absurdity of some killings, but Banks doesn’t dwell on any one emotion for too long.
Cocaine Bear is looking for the middle ground between the absurdity of drugs and the humor in a bear falling for it. The bear that unintentionally consumes it or the gangster played by Liotta who is willing to risk everything, including his son’s life, to recover the millions of dollars that are hanging on the cocaine lost in the bush, might both be incredibly high on drugs in this scene, according to Banks.
Cocaine Bear has its charms, and Convery and Martindale both give incredibly endearing performances that prove that other characters could have benefited greatly from having a little more depth to make them all more memorable.

Yet, to fully appreciate the film, you’ll need to be in the precise right frame of mind and have a strong tolerance for unadulterated silliness. It thus receives this rating.
Elizabeth Banks is the director of Cocaine Bear and is produced by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Ray Liotta, Keri Russell, Kristofer Hivju, and Alden Ehrenreich are among the star-studded cast members of the film. The release date was February 24, 2023. An OTT platform will undoubtedly purchase the Cocaine Bar movie for online streaming.
