Rasika Dugal confirms shoot completion as the cult crime franchise gears up for its big-screen debut with original stars and fresh faces

The much-awaited Mirzapur: The Movie has officially wrapped its shooting, bringing the iconic crime saga one step closer to cinemas. Actress Rasika Dugal, who reprises her role as Beena Tripathi, recently confirmed the completion of filming through social media, sharing behind-the-scenes moments from the final days on set. The film, which expands the universe of the hugely popular Amazon Prime Video series, is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026, marking a significant transition of the franchise from streaming to the big screen.
Backed by Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, Mirzapur: The Movie is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and created by Puneet Krishna, both of whom have been closely associated with the series since its inception. The film brings back fan-favourite characters played by Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu Sharma, Shweta Tripathi, Rasika Dugal and Abhishek Banerjee, while also introducing new faces to broaden the scope of its gritty world. While specific plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, the film is expected to retain the raw violence, political intrigue and power struggles that made Mirzapur a cultural phenomenon, while scaling it up for a cinematic experience. With post-production now underway, anticipation is steadily building for what promises to be one of the most high-profile Hindi film releases of 2026.
