When a Midnight Call Made Her Day: Kriti Sanon’s Unexpected Phone Call from Hrithik Roshan

When actress Kriti Sanon appeared on the talk show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, she shared one of her most memorable career moments — a 2 a.m. phone call from Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan. The call came right after her debut film Heropanti released in 2014. Kriti revealed that her co-star Tiger Shroff had arranged a private screening for Hrithik without her knowledge. “I was sleeping when my phone started buzzing at 2 a.m. from an unknown number,” Kriti recalled. “When I checked Truecaller, it said Hrithik Roshan. It took me some time to even believe he was calling.” She added that she was too stunned to respond immediately and decided to call him back in the morning.

For Kriti, the moment was nothing short of a dream come true. She admitted that Hrithik had been her childhood crush, saying, “The only person whose posters I’ve ever had in my room was Hrithik Roshan.” The fact that he watched her debut performance and personally called to appreciate her work left her completely awestruck.

Vicky Kaushal, who also appeared on the same episode, shared his own story about being a lifelong Hrithik fan. He recalled the craze surrounding Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and how every kid in the country wanted to be like Hrithik. “When I found out my dad was working with him, I was thrilled. I didn’t even know what a film set looked like, but I was desperate to meet him,” Vicky said, laughing as he remembered practising Hrithik’s iconic “Ek Pal Ka Jeena” dance step in front of the mirror.

The episode also included light-hearted exchanges between Kriti and Kajol, who reminisced about their time together on the sets of Dilwale in 2015. Kajol joked that she had to wear “Kriti-height heels” to match the tall actress during their scenes together, while Kriti mentioned it took them two films to truly bond — but once they did, the friendship came naturally.
